Unearth India - Yoga Retreat
October 12 - 20, 2019
To UNEARTH is your own discovery, an outward bound journey to connect more deeply within.
Pilgrimage to India is a full body sensory delight. Through direct, personal experience witness the daily outpouring of devotion, absorb vibrant colours and flavours, and soak up the humming vibration of every sacred sound.
Learn asana, pranayama, mantra and ancient chants, all while immersed in local culture and traditional celebrations alongside the Holy Ganges River.
Journaling and reflection will unravel illusions of what holds you back, so you can return with tools and techniques to remain inspired, so you feel nourished, refreshed and open to discovering more beauty in your life.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
If your heart is longing for inspiration or an escape, or you have thought of visiting India, but felt intimidated or not sure where to start, then this journey is designed for you. Many of us have the spark of an idea for adventure, but there are so many options of retreats, guided tours, centres, that the transformative experience never begins.
Let us guide your journey. More than simply a retreat, this is a yogic immersion at a dream destination, Rishikesh, the birthplace of the yogic tradition itself.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Walk barefoot in the Holy river bed, mull through artistic markets and taste the flavours of local cuisine.
Your days will be filled with Vinyasa and Yin yoga, soul nourishing activities, dedicated moments for relaxation and Thai Massage, and simply yet importantly, time and space for recovery and rest.
We’ll have a day trip to Haridwar, where local devotees travel to cleanse their spirit, chant with their beloved, and celebrate deities & life itself!
All sealed with a glistening sunrise across architectural masterpiece - the Taj Mahal.
Explore your own roots in the homeland of yoga. Take your heart on an adventure, allow the great teacher India to open your senses and awareness, to put new perspective in your life, and come home completely re-inspired.

PLANNING TIPS FROM SARAH
Getting to Rishikesh
The closest airport is Dehradun. It’s about an hour flight from Delhi to Dehradun. We will book your pick-up from Dehradun to Rishikesh so that you arrive safely.
What if I have a late flight arrival to Delhi?
You can book simple accomodation near the airport, and request a car from your hotel to pick you up to/from Delhi airport (they’ll bring a sign with your name!). Fly Delhi to Dehradun the next day. I have done this before and it's good to know there will be someone waiting for you!
Get your Visa!
You will require a visa for India. Organise an e-visa online , and allow at least 7 days processing time.
Special Dietary Requirements
We can cater for your needs, please let us know when enquiring.
Food and Nutrition
Breakfast plus most lunches and dinners will be included (you will have the opportunity to buy from local restaurants during cultural excursions away from the shala). Our Ayurvedic chef will provide nourishing, delicious vegetarian meals prepared with fresh local produce and cooked with love.
We will adventure to trusted healthy cafes, where you can order lunch, taste local cuisine, sip on vegan smoothies or grab a hot chai! For days when you seek down time a menu will be available for you to stay homebound, so that you have the freedom to spend time how it suits you.
3/4 star accommodation with ensuite bathrooms, staying humble and comfortable. Community and building friendships are a vital part of this retreat, so all rooms are twin shared. A beautiful opportunity to share with a friend or a chance to bond with a like-minded yogi and get to know someone new.
Through out so much of both of Mav’s and my own personal travel experience, some of our fondest memories have been those of sharing space with a new friend, connecting, and finding comfort by sharing experiences in a new place.
Yogis of all levels are encouraged to attend! Explore a nourishing and nurturing practice and to adapt the practice to suit your own needs.
Each class will be themed, with creative yet thoughtful sequencing to deepen the experience within.
Ask me now! I will get back to you with answers to any other questions you might have about Unearth India Retreat.
